'The Division' Launch Party Lineup

Bring on the bass

here’s no denying that the last year has been tough on Perth’s bass community.

With Origin and Hidden moving in different directions, the closing of Ambar and the absence of events like Society and Bassment, it seemed like Perth’s once-strong bass culture might be slowly fizzling out.

But hopefully Division is here to prove us all wrong.

The latest event to enter the Perth scene, The Division presents a collaborative effort between EDM powerhouses Filth and The Compound, and they’ve geared up to deliver a lineup to get every basshead frothing at the mouth.

First on the list is none other than Shiverz (a.k.a Da Butcher), with the CEO of Monsters Dubstep no doubt gearing up to drop a stack of unreleased ID’s for the Perth crowd.

Joining him we’ve got the young-blooded Australian hero Mastadon, alongside fellow youngster and rising star Hekler, coming ready to wreak havoc with his wavy bass.

Rounding off the international bill is one of 2018’s biggest breakout artists G-Rex and Wakaan boss-man Liquid Stranger, set to melt some brains with his beautifully wobbly free-form bass.

Finishing off the list is local legend and riddim-extraordinaire 7inn, who’ll no doubt be gunning to prove why he deserves to be on the bill alongside some incredibly talented artists.

If the mixture of trap, riddim and dubstep wasn’t already enough, come May 4th 3000 punters will be sweating it up in a new custom built venue, getting their ears torn to shreds with ‘Space Boss’ blasting out of a Funktion One sound system, and I honestly cannot wait.

After what’s proven to be a very shaky period for bass events in Perth, it’s a relief to see that there are people out there yet to give up hope in the community.

With a lineup this impressive, we can only hope that The Division’s launch marks the first of many popular events for the brand, and we’re extremely excited to see where it goes from here.

As always, I hope you enjoyed the read. Party safe, stay hydrated, and I’ll see you next time.
